Cutthroat Trout- 1st Monroe, MI Best of show Strongville, Ohio, 3rd Perham, Mn

Cutthroat trout fish spearing decoy I built as a worker for competition. Worker decoys means it’s a simple carving- no scale texturing allowed, emphasis on clean craftsmanship and swim ability. I entered it at the world championships in Monroe, MI. It placed 1st in category. I also entered it at the Ohio fish decoy championships and it won 1st in category and Best of show. It was also entered at The Gathering in Perham, MN in a decorative category and placed 3rd among decoys with carved/textured details. This is a one of a kind carving, a step above my production workers. It can be a display piece or used as a decoy while spearing. It is carved from mahogany, has an epoxy clear.
